As I go through every year, I always have a number in the back of my head: a number that is always changing as I photograph more and capture different scenes in different seasons or places. I always want to know how many calendar-worthy images I have ready to go, to ensure I can put together a quality product when the time comes. I’m always working my way to “12”. Well, that’s true for most years, but 2025 was a bit different.
With the arrival of my first-born child in April, I found it exceedingly difficult to get out and photograph scenes of interest. Given that my “calendar count” wasn’t increasing through the year, I decided to do something a bit different. For the 2026 year, I’ve decided to change format and use portrait orientation images. I’ve captured many images in this format over the last several years, and while many would be great calendar candidates, none fit the horizontal orientation format. Changing to a portrait orientation has allowed me to capitalize on an array of images which deserve to be in the calendar, but never had the opportunity. As a result, this calendar includes images from several incredible locations including Alberta, Ontario, Yukon, Nunavut, and Arizona.
This portrait orientation wall calendar is custom designed by me every year. It includes 12 high-quality images which match the month they represent, and each set of dates includes monthly holidays for the Ontario region. Please note – holidays differ depending on where you reside, so the holidays referenced here may not match your region!
