While thoughts of fall in Ontario usually conjure images of red and orange maple leaves, yellow birch and poplar, flowing rivers and red/gold hills, fall starts much more subtly. In dark forests, some of the understory sometimes changes first, creating paths of yellow and gold amid lush surroundings. This was a happy little find, with passing light rays illuminating bits of the cedar forest, and accentuating bits of early fall colour. Always a treat to find scenes like this one unexpectedly!
