Sometimes the most exciting light comes before dawn. On this evening, Scott and I turned up at Bow Lake well before sunrise to capture a potential moon-lit scene over some dramatic and snowy trees. Unfortunately for us, the snow didn’t really sit on the trees, and an overcast sky made it unlikely that our vision would come together. Sometimes that’s just how things go on these trips, and it’s part of the package with landscape photography.
I had all but accepted that the evening would not work out when the clouds parted for just a moment. Just enough time for a few exposures, which allowed this scene to come together. Seconds made the difference here, and sometimes that’s all you get on these trips. I’m just thankful that I was ready for it!
