Spring really is an incredible renewal. As the green returns to the forest, so too does some incredible life. Trilliums thrive in early spring, taking advantage of a light-permeable tree canopy to bloom and put on a show for only a short period. While most of the trilliums here are white, some of those white trilliums will turn pink to add just a hint of colour to a beautiful forest floor bouquet. As the sun rises and dew settles on the leaves and petals of these little flowers, I can’t help but feel grateful to witness the forest breathe like this. Scenes like this one are possible for a few weeks, but catching the light like this happens in only minutes – sometimes less. It’s a privilege to see these incredibly delicate flowers show off for the minutes that really emphasize their beauty.
