This was a scene I’d thought about for a while. I always really loved the scraggly junipers in this area – growing in such twisted and contorted ways. They always reminded me of some sort of enchanted tree – haunted by some spirit that made it take on a unique character, reaching out to the environment that its roots had dug into long ago. It was only a matter of time until I found one of those spooky junipers reaching out for a sunset-lit mesa, and this spot certainly fit my vision!
