Sometimes it takes a little while for a photographic idea to turn into an actual photo. My friend had an idea for this spot for years, but it never really came together with the right conditions to make it work. He brought me to this spot the year prior, and I believe he was there the year before that as well, but to no avail. This year, however, we were dedicated to taking every chance we had to make this work, and it took a few tries. Three sunrises and eventually we got one which would work for us, despite the forecast saying there was no chance. For once I was happy to see the forecast way off! Once again, persistence and patience shows why they’re solid strategies for landscape photography.
