After three days of shooting at bow lake and getting skunked on light, my friend and and I had decided to shoot elsewhere on this evening. Until we got on the ice road parkway that is. As we approached Bow lake, it became clear that day 4 was going to be the lucky one. Light was just creeping through everywhere, creating drama in all directions. I can clearly remember the discussion as we approached the lake:
“If we stop, we might not get where we’re going. Should we stop?”
“Let’s stop – we’ve waited so long for light here!”
“Ok, we shoot for twenty minutes and then we’re back on the road.”
[One hour later]
“I guess we should probably get going huh? How long have we been here? Like 20 minutes?”
“Uh oh”
Our time here was brief but absolutely worth it, even though it almost cost us sunset that night. Frankly, the light was worth the wait!
