Baffin Island Photography … Again. Sweet Redemption!

Sunrise light over Mount Thor in the Canadian Arctic on Baffin Island

Auyuittuq National Park on Baffin Island has been a dream location for me for probably close to a decade now. The park is home to some of Canada’s most dramatic peaks, and jaw dropping arctic scenery. With a relatively limited number of people visiting every year, there are few places which offer such an incredible combination of incredible scenery and real solitude. Perfect spot for a photography and camping adventure.

In 2023 I got my first opportunity to visit Baffin Island, and saying it didn’t go according to plan would be a dramatic understatement. I ended up having to cancel that trip after the first full day in the park, and got stranded in the local community. Sounds fun, right? If you want to see what that was like, click the link here.

This year, however, things went just a little bit differently. I had one of the most powerful trips of my life in this incredible park, and captured some of my favourite images. In fact, it was such a big experience that I’ve had to split it into 4 videos! And to make it even more special, I was joined by 4 other people who made the experience a memorable one!

Thanks for watching!

Episode 1: Sweet Redemption

In this first video, I finally get back into the park, after a few travel hiccups, and end up capturing some images I could only dream of before.

Episode 2: A Dream Come True

In this second video, I finally get to the viewpoint I’d always dreamed of, and just in time. Over the course of these two days, I end up coming away with some of my favourite images of the whole trip.
